See that bright thing around the corner, friends? Do you know what that is? That's summertime staring us right in the face! We're almost there! Thank you for putting one hand over the other, day by day, and serving God alone! The winds certainly have blown. You have remained steadfast and faithful. You have shielded our little ones from the storm the best you were able. They have flourished in your care! You brought your A+ game and you are probably tired! Can I get an "amen"? Let's push through this week leaning on each other and finish strong!
Thank You DeeDee Throop
DeeDee, you have served SO many children for many years! Thank you for the heart, advocacy, wisdom and LOVE you have provided our children. Thank you for the genuine friendship and kindness you have offered to EVERYONE! We are SO grateful for you. You will be dearly missed! God's blessings to you as you venture into the next page of your life of service to God. God shares a warm smile to his people through your heart and love!
Kyra Short
Will be joining us at Rose Park as our school social worker. She will be with us 50% and will be helping to implement tier 2 of PBIS. Welcome to our Rose Park family, Kyra! We think you'll love it here!
Erin Johnson
Will be joining us at Rose Park as our inclusion teacher. Ian is returning and we'll have other students on her caseload. Welcome to Rose Park, Erin. You too will find many fast friends here!
Final Chapel
I have never ended a year with you. I'd like to suggest that we send our fifth graders to the next page of their educational journey with a blessing and prayer. I am proposing that we move chapel from Wednesday morning to Friday morning. Could we hold chapel in the same location we celebrated Cinco de Mayo? We'll share memories with our fifth graders, sing together and then pray over them. Then I'd like to ask that all students, preschool through fourth graders, enter our building at our fifth grade doors and line the halls on both sides creating a tunnel of sorts. We'll bring our fifth graders to the entrance and they'll walk through one final time. When they enter, they'll walk through a tunnel of applauding "underclassmen". The fifth graders will walk all the way to the intersection. Once they've passed through the tunnel, every student will reconvene one final time in their classroom to close the year in prayer with their classroom family and teacher. Dismissal is at 11:30. I believe the parent team as a tunnel of sorts planned for ALL of the children at our front doors. Thank you!
Running Records
Please pass your final running record onto next year's teacher.
Report Cards/MAP Reports
Your report cards and MAP reports will be packed and sealed for you. Please input your report card data by Wednesday morning if you'd like the office to print and pack your cards!
Summer Parties
We will provide you with your new class email list so that you can offer a brief 'hello' message and invite the children to a get-to-know-you event this summer. Please include me in that message as I will try to attend as many of these gatherings as I am able! Lots of partying to do this summer ;)
For your next blog this weekend or next week:
Book Fair
Parents! We are SO grateful for your overwhelming support of our outdoor Scholastic book fair. We hope your child has new reading material to enjoy from the book fair. Thanks to your generosity and support, our media center has received more than $1,600 to purchase new books for next year! WOW! A very special thank you to the many volunteers who gave time to organize and run our book store. Jamie Isanhart, in particular, thought outside of the box, worked creativity and popped up a COVID-friendly, wildly successful book fair! Thank you, parents and thank you, Jamie!
