100th Day In Person!

ODC Sign Up

Our team of naturalists will be back on the second Wednesday of February. If you haven't had a chance to sign up, please consider it. The teaching is not only beneficial for our students, it also offers teachers an excellent opportunity to observe outdoor education practices and protocol!

Collaboration Days

Are almost upon us. Take a look at our dates and times. We'll be meeting in the admin board room all spaced out and masked. 😷😀

Wacky Wednesday

Here's our line up. At least we're getting the hair one over with first. Fweew!

100th Day

I don't want to brag....but look what shirt came floating up the ol Amazon! Let's have fun on Friday!

  • We have a few fun ideas in mind to help celebrate with our students and share in our collective gratitude for 100 days of in person learning! God is GOOD!
  • You will each have a classroom set of eye droppers if you'd like to have your kids to the classic water tension experiment on a penny. They likely won't make it to 100 drops but perhaps they can find a partner penny total that would get them to 100! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVd3hv4b1FU&ab_channel=RaisingDragons-ActivitiesForKids
  • If it's not too much trouble and a horrible interruption, we'll play a musical tone in the office at close to every hour (9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00ish) If you would like to particiapte, divide your class into seven groups and send one group to the office when you hear the music play. They'll be celebrated and gifted with a fun pencil. WOOHOO! Yes! The dream is real! 😂
  • We also have silicone bracelets for you to offer your students however you might like.
  • There will be a big 100th day banner hanging on our front door. Feel free to use this for socially distanced photo ops to help ramp up the celebration and include parents on the photo fun!

PBIS

At our next staff meeting on Wednesday, February 3 we can debrief the launch and our first few weeks together. Still feel a bit awkward? Have more questions than you have confidence? That's a good thing! That means you're trying it and using it! We already have some real live success stories as well! Let's talk through where we are and how to continue growing together in our SER living!

PD

Is Monday, February 15. Erin will be letting everyone know where to report for the day of learning and developing. Plan on a full day together in a variety of locations. It should be a busy, valuable day together!

Please pray over these very special upcoming dates. This is big decision for families and our desire is to serve God with the mission at HC with more and more of our next generation of Kingdom bringers!

Copy and Paste for your blog please

Families, please be sure your child has PE shoes on gym days. Boots are not as speedy and kids can't jump as high as they like when they're weighted down with big winter boots (it also creates quite a mess on the floor 😜)

Speaking of clothing....pants! We need pants! Our students have been in need of dry pants at various points throughout the day. We love to take them into our supply room for a nice, dry pants choice! Mrs. Chase, Mrs. Pereira and Mrs. Rynsburger have emptied out their stash of clothing from home. If you happen to have any old children's pants that still have life in them, we'd be so appreciative to take them off your hands! They'll be put to great use in our supply room!
