Thankful Heart

Gratitude fills the epicenter of these days, doesn't it? In our classrooms, small groups at church and in living rooms across our community we come together to express our deep and abiding gratitude for the small and big blessings in life. This school year has not been an easy one. For Pete's sake, 2020 has not been easy. But despite the hardship and the valleys, we have been blessed to see God's hand clearly and presently in all things!

I am grateful for each one of you! I am grateful for your grace and your faith. I am grateful for your creativity and your 'can do' attitude. I am grateful for your laughter and your joy! I'm telling you, I am so grateful to do life with each one of you! We have a unique bond. God has woven us together in community to help raise a group of beautiful children! We live in relationship marked in truth and grace! Thank you for faithfully serving God with your best! Thank you for dusting each other off when we trip up! Thank you for praying over one another in our times of weakness. I am grateful, this Thanksgiving Day in 2020, to be woven together with you for such a time as this!

Kicking Up Some Festive Fun

Remember your funky Christmas earrings on Monday, November 30! We're getting ready to celebrate Christmas JOY and we might as well dangle some joy from our ears! What a fun way to welcome our kids back from Thanksgiving break! Thank you, Lydia and Jodi!

Staff Meeting

Our next meeting together is Wednesday, December 2. All PK-5 please plan to attend for an hour. Bring a device. We'll be walking and talking through our next steps of PBIS together.

Turkey Trot

It's BACK! It's our annual turkey trot time! During your students' afternoon recess on Monday we'll be chugging around the trot loop on the playground. Good times, people! We'll have music, laughter and movement! I even hear there will be a turkey out there! Leave your hunting gear at home, please! Here are the times your students will be trotting. Feel free to poke your head out and cheer them on if you have time!

Christmas Around the World

It's coming! Thank you for being willing to push yourselves outside of the box and bring this learning to our children! Christ came into this world for ALL children! ALL around the world! What a beautiful way to live into the reality that we are woven together, world wide, with brothers and sisters in Christ celebrating the birth of our King!

We had 'pegged' November 23 as research day but please make that work for you in whatever way you'd like. You have $30 to spend toward your project thanks to parent team.

If we can have our learning on display by December 9, I will create a sign up schedule so you can take your class on a learning tour walk-n-talk throughout our displays.

In the intersection we will have a display set up representing the work of Tent Schools International. They are formerly known as World Wide Christian Schools. Tent Schools International identifies needs of school-aged children throughout the world who have been displaced and works to set up temporary Christian schools. These schools are often a tent structure placed in refugee camps. Teachers work to meet the academic, emotional and spiritual needs of children in these schools. What a beautiful example of doing Kingdom work this side of heaven! While touring Rose Park and learning all about Jesus birth celebrated around the world, we will also have our children learn about the pursuit of Christian education around the world as well. Do you think we could help pass this word along after Thanksgiving? I will put this initiative in the blog for December to inform our families. Thank you for supporting this work in teaching our children Christ was born, died and was raised again for ALL children throughout our world!
