Happy Reformation Day, Friends!
I'm so grateful we get to serve in roles that allow us to work to advance God's Kingdom and raise God's little ones to love and serve our King. We need the wisdom and discernment of our King to hold us together these days don't we. One of the principles Martin Luther brought alive with the Reformation movement was Ora et Labora. Pray and Work. I pray God's mercies over each of you each day. I love the work we pour ourselves into!
New Family!
We have a new family joining us at Rose Park beginning on Monday! Dash (in Karina's class) and Wren (in Sheila's class). They will begin on Monday! Welcome kiddos!
Welcome Back!
Guess what, all! Be on the lookout! Our third grader Allie Koning is rejoining us! Beginning Monday, November 9, Allie will be back! Let's be sure to give her a warm welcome too!
Site Supervisor
Dinah and I have been talking about how to best live into our roles at Rose Park. On a related note, I would be remiss not to add here how much I respect and deeply appreciate ALL that Dinah handles and leads both behind the scenes as well as out and about for us at Rose Park. She is an exceptional listener, learner, worker and leader! Dinah and I connect regularly regarding all of the bigs and smalls surrounding life at Rose Park. As the Forest School continues to grow (we're knee deep in developing plans for third grade already!) I find my time spread hither and yon sometimes. I'm so grateful for Dinah's presence and leadership. I know you are as well. Please don't hesitate, if you are unable to find or connect with me, bounce your ideas, wonderings or suggestions past Dinah. She is wise and creative :) She and I converse regularly. Either she or I will get back with you! We both want to serve YOU because by serving YOU we believe we're all serving our God!
Free Snacks
Nancy McCarthy is able to offer our kids FREE snacks each day! This will begin the week of November 7. You'll get some information soon from her regarding the disbursement process of these free yummies for our kids!
Christmas Around The World
Thank you for listening to the cross-cultural learning experience proposal that will help our children understand that Jesus was sent to this world to be born, live, die and rise again for ALL children. All around the world. Here is the sign up in which you can indicate the country your class will become 'experts' in. As you know through our conversation, this will become a building-wide jigsaw learning activity. Please feel free to sign up for any country you like. If you see that another teacher has selected the country you would like to research, no sweat! We LOVE duplications because we KNOW the learning and experience will be unique! You pick the country you would like to lead your students in. Please "publish" your learning in ANY mode you would like in the hallway near your door. We will enjoy walking and touring the results of each classroom's learning in December!
Let's consider our two dates. Please feel free to push back on these dates
- Research date: Monday, November 23
- Christmas Around the World date: Wednesday, December 9
Staff Meeting
Let's put our heads together around our next steps in PBIS and some data digging! 3:30-4:20 on Wednesday, November 4.
