I am learning that each class holds a special "Christmas Blessing" event in the month of December. Please let me know if you would like help in organizing or facilitating your event. If you have nothing planned, please don't panic. I'm learning our rhythms and routines as well. Just for our own awareness, when you have a chance would you jot down a title for your emphasis? It's a helpful way for everyone to understand and share the story of Rose Park as well as support each other's initiatives! Thank you for your work on this!

Playing Safely in the Snow
Just so we're all speaking the same language: snowballs can be thrown at home, snowballs cannot be thrown at school. If you are monitoring the playground and see a child throw a snowball, they must "sit out" for a consequence. Please send them to the office where they are removed from play and feel the boredom in the office is not worth the snowball throwing at school. I communicated this to all K-4 students but it may be wise to review this once again from the classroom and 5th-6th grade as well. Thank you.
Turkey Trot
Morning recess on Tuesday, November 26 you are invited to jog around the playground with your students. Julie is kicking off a running club and the more teachers the merrier! I'll join in and feel free to wear fitness gear so we don't get heels stuck in the mud! ;)
Cards For Our Troops
Dawn Mulder is a mom of an HC alum who's son is in the active military. She knows first hand how difficult Christmas is for troops who are deployed over the Christmas season. Dawn has several groups who are collecting goodies for the deployed troops but has asked if our students could write "thank you" and "Merry Christmas" cards for the care packages. If you would be willing to create a set of student-created cards, please put them in my box by Friday, November 22 and I will get the cards to Dawn Mulder.
