Being A Dandelion

If you were present for staff devotions a few Mondays ago, you were blessed by a personal story and challenge from Kathy Kuipers. This photo reminds me of her challenge. Children might be some of the only humans who take JOY in dandelions! But God created beauty in dandelions! As you may well know from your yard, they are persistent suckers who just keep populating and spreading despite some folks' best efforts to eradicate them. Children see dandelions entirely differently. Once needs only to receive a fist full of these, wonky stems at every living length from a smiling child whose eyes are full of love to remember that a dandelion is one of God's expressions of beauty in His creation! Can we be that too? Can we be a persistent expression of God's love and joy? When a child beholds us, will they know and see the hand of our Father? I see it in you, in your grace, in your patience and in your joy! Keep being dandelions together! There is so much beauty for us to behold rather than overlook this side of heaven! Keep taking and being joy in the big and smalls of life!

1 Corinthians 16:14 "Let all that you do be done in love."

Delta Screener

Just a reminder that the winter test window for Delta Math is coming up Dec 2-6, 2019.
All new students should be assigned to the proper classes and ready to test.

Help Wanted
Our band and orchestra students will be involved with several Christmas concerts upcoming. Matt and Kyle are leading and managing so much at these concerts. Events like this offer our community an impactful glimpse into the work and growth that is put into each young musician learning and developing their gifts! Thank you, Matt and Kyle! On their behalf, Scott VandenBerg is requesting the help of teachers who may already be planning to attend these concerts. We need folks in several areas
  • Someone willing to sit with students in the warm up room and sit with student during the concert to encourage respectful listening
  • Someone to welcome parents as they drop off children to the band/orchestra/choir rooms
  • Someone to take offering at the end of intermission and secure it
The concert is on Monday, Dec. 9, from 6:00-7:15. If you are willing to help the concert run smoothly, please email Matt, Kyle or me. I'll be helping man the crowd and greet the parents as well! :)

Scholastic Book Fair Announcements
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Rose Park just on time for Christmas!  Our class will be visiting the book fair at ___(You enter time)______on Tuesday, December 3, to create a wish list that your students will bring home or be emailed to you.  Please look for it in your student’s backpack/check your email (you chose how are you sending it home!)!  Then you can either:

 2.  Bring the wish list to school and purchase items yourself to keep the books a surprise for Christmas! (I’ll have my wish list there too in case you would like to bless our classroom with a book for Christmas…I’ve been told the Book Fair committee will even wrap it for you!)  Can’t make it into shop?
