Woah, my friends. Week one is in the books.

Yes! This! ;) 

Thank you for your dedication, digging deep to keep up the energy even in the oppressive heat and for walking with God through this week. Children are finding home in your class. Parents are taking comfort in your love and care for their children. God is smiling. It's time to come away and rest a while! Let's do it all again next week, shall we? (...the only correct answer here is YES! 😂)

Meet the Teacher NightThanks for all the planning, time, and effort that went into making this night a big success. Parents let with smiles on their faces and most of the forms filled out.

MAP Testing WindowThe testing window for MAPS is Monday 9/9 - Friday, 9/20. Please let Thea or me know how we can help and when. Also, be aware of the students with test accommodations and make sure we follow through with the needed actions.

Emergency Red FoldersThese should be updated and hanging inside the classroom door or somewhere close/visible.

Weekly Grade Level MeetingsAs you begin the year, please continue or start a Google doc and share with me. If you have one from last year continue using that doc. I will be asked to share these for CSI accreditation sometime in the Spring. Thanks to those of you that have already shared me in on your grade level minutes!

Running Records As you begin to do your running records, let me know how I can help. Remember to write notes on the cues that the students used or neglected, fill in the fluency score, circle the accuracy rate, analyze all errors made by those students in the yellow and red, and remember to have the student showing independent on both fiction and nonfiction before moving them a level beyond their grade.

Staff MeetingOur K-6 staff meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept 4.

• We will review the behavior expectation rubric/google form that began last year.

• We'll brainstorm a bit about Grandparents Day

• We'll bolster your confidence as a conferring guide for your students!

BatonsHopefully, you have collected most of your students batons and now have them stored for the school year ready to return to the students in the Spring.  

Convocation Time
Convocation is next Wednesday, August 28!  Below you will find your bus assignment.  We plan to seat students 3 to a seat on the bus.  We will leave Rose Park at 8:30AM and return to RP around 9:30AM. My cell # is 616-510-1593 if you need assistance of any kind!
