WOW! I'm so sorry for the delay in updating our blog. It feels like we crammed a full five-day week into four days! 😅 Thank you for the strong and positive start into 2023! I pray you each had a restful break of making memories and enjoying a quick blizzard. We have some new and exciting changes happening in our preschool/early childhood programming. I know that we're still zeroing into the answers to some questions which can feel uncomfortable. Thank you for your patience. Answers will come and we'll serve our families EXCEPTIONALLY WELL in the 2023-2023 school year! I'm excited to meet our perspective families on Thursday evening.

Missing Battery Pack Mystery
Hand sanitizer dispensers in our building require rechargeable batteries. There were several battery packs charging in Nona's office. Those seem to have walked away at some point during Christmas break. It's the caper of the missing battery packs! Any leads anyone? Happen to see a wayward battery pack this week? We'll take any leads you may have to offer! Please let Nona, Carla, Laura or me know. Thank you!
Staff Meeting
Wednesday after school we will hold our staff meeting. Rachel and Doug will present some changes to our staff handbook. In the staff calendar you will find a google meet link. We'll use that link for those who need to attend virtually. Sorry for the snag with virtual attendance at our last meeting.

Discovery Night
Thursday evening we will hold our Rose Park Discovery Night event. This year's event we are asking only preschool through second grade teachers to attend. Certainly more are welcome but not required. We'll serve an optional dinner at 5:00. Instructions for the flow of the event will take place in the staff center at 5:30. We'll be in place at 5:45 to begin welcoming new families.

SWIM LESSONS
Now that safety concerns we lived through during the pandemic are released, the Aquatic Center is able to provide swim lessons for us again this year! I recognize this program is a little uncomfortable for each child because it’s new and unfamiliar. Because our children are blessed to be raised in Michigan, surrounded by bodies of water, we believe this safety instruction is a blessing that we pray they will never need but feel responsible to equip them. If you find yourself pondering over the “why” of lessons, please take a listen to HC mom Jenny White on the why swim safety. HCAC Swim School welcome video that will help you understand a bit about the logistics. Our 1st-4th graders will be bussed to the pool each day the weeks of January 30-February 10. Each grade level is assigned the time below:
- 1st Grade – 9:15am-9:45am
- 2nd Grade – 10:15am-10:45am
- 4th Grade – 11:15am-11:45am
- 3rd Grade – 12:50pm-1:20pm
