Final Details

Yard Signs

You've perhaps seen on social media that the south side of town yesterday. One box was missing from the order and that is SUPPOSED to come in today. My hope is that I can alert our sign delivery team that our materials are IN and we can start surprising fifth and sixth graders. If you'd like to be part of the fun, please let me know. Right now I have the following who have RSVPed to deliver (we'll need to wrap this up in time for our Society Meeting Zoom so I hope we hear from the delivery folks soon!):

  • Jodi Hossink
  • Laura Smith
  • Jodi Gillmore
  • Kim VanderZwaag
  • Stacey Rietman
  • Sheila Dokter
  • Catherine Tait

Rose Park Sidewalk Celebration

Friends, let's line up Alli and Mandi (3s) starting near the standing stone on the bus circle drive and, as families travel through the bus line per the map, let's line up progressively through the grades. Please plan to be in your spot by 11:15 so we can set up our materials and signs with time to situate everyone.  Each person must wear their decorated mask and remain 6 feet or more distanced from all people at all times. Please remember that, together, we must enforce this as a hug-free zone. Encore teachers, ESS teachers and all staff please pick a parade spot minding our spacing between ourselves. Let's all wear our Living Testimony t-shirts!

Teachers, please have your labeled bags of student materials ready to go. These will be placed in opened trunks as your families drive by. You might find a bag in families' trunks labeled for you. If you see a bag labeled "library books" feel free to grab that for them as well. Please remove your bag from the trunk if you find one there. We are NOT accepting computers during this drop off. Parents have been told computers will be collected at an appointment set up with Charlie and company. It might be wise to have a box or cart to collect your materials.

Teachers/staff will make the exchange of materials and wave the families on. We'll need to bear in mind that hundreds of cars will be moving through in a relatively short time. It will be bittersweet to see your kids and send them on. We'll do our best. Music and bubbles will fill the air. Let's make this a memorable, celebratory, joy-filled experience for families, just like every day at Rose Park, as we launch them into summertime!

Forest School Sidewalk Celebration

We're so new that Google Earth doesn't have an aerial pic of us! 😅  Thankfully our parents know the bus lane quite well. Let's put Ron and Jen's station first as parents pull into the bus lane. Emily and Angie next. Please plan to be in your spot by 11:15 so we can set up our materials and signs with time to situate everyone. Per Jim's request, please wear a mask. I have white ones you can decorate or feel free to wear something that's more "you". May The Forest Be With You shirts or Living Testimony. Either one tells our story well as parents and families cruise on by. We'll publish our time frame to parents as 11:30-12:30 so our middle school/high school pick up can get underway with just a little less congestion and our Forest families can avoid that parking circus!

I think only Braydon and Braxton have a computer. Their parents have been told computers will be collected at an appointment set up with Charlie and company. It might be wise to have a box or cart to collect your materials.

End Of Year Checklist

Is here

June PD

Please save Monday, June 1 and the morning of June 2 to work through some closing activities together as a staff. More details to come.

Helpful Tool?

Just as I'm thinking about coming together with our kids next year we'll want to speak into what they remember happening this year as well as be prepared for the changes they may experience in school as it resumes. This resource might be considered as a way to guide those talks if you'd like.
