March Madness....in the good sense of the word ;)

World Down Syndrome Day/Rock Your Socks at Rose Park!

A local mom of a sweet little boy, Jay, has written a book about lessons learned while raising her child with Down Syndrome. Katelyn S. Herrygers will be joining us on Friday, March 20 for a book reading and activity in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day. Can we make it work to add an "assembly" to our schedule on Friday, March 20? Can we go with 10:35-11:05? Maybe you can catch me if this is a snag for you or if this won't work? And? Let's sport some crazy town socks that day to celebrate the beauty in being unique!

Rose Park Ranch Update

The Holland Township planning commissioners will meet on Tuesday, March 3 in the evening to approve or reject our special use permit request for Rosie (pygmy goat #1), Parker (pygmy goat #2) and three egg-laying hens that are quiet and neighborly ;) I'll keep you posted on the results (inside scoop: as the rookie commissioner in the group, we receive a staff report with recommended questions and results for each applicant. The recommendation is to pass our request! I have a good feeling about this!!!) 🐇🐈🐔🐐💖

Libros En Espanol

Because of the generosity of the parent community at the Spanish Immersion Christmas program this year we were able to purchase almost $250 in books and we have a new space in the library because of it!! Feel free to stop by the library and see the new books. Kids and teachers are excited to get new and authentic text in front of our eager readers! These books are meant for ALL students and teacher eager to read en espanol!

Report Cards Go Home 3/20

Due the 17th or 18th IF you'd like your set printed. If you prefer to print your own, feel free to complete after the 18th.

Family Fun Night

Will be celebrated on March 20. Nobody pull the fire alarm please. I've heard stories....  ;)

Parent/Teacher Conferences!

...are coming. March 23 and March 25 from 4:00-8:00. Dan Vos blocked out 6:00-6:30 to allow you time to eat. If you prefer to override that, please feel free. But it is nice to step away and reconnect with people who are gutting it out right along with you. Those are long but impactful evenings!

Spring Program

Will be on March 31 at Christ Memorial. You won't want to miss it! And? We'll go into Spring Break with this beautiful celebration behind us! And? I don't think we'll be able to squeeze ONE. MORE. THING. into the month of March!

World Down Syndrome Day/Rock Your Socks at Rose Park!

World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness initiative backed by the United Nations since 2012.  It is held every year on March 21 to raise awareness of Down Syndrome.  The date 3/21 is chosen because being born with Down Syndrome is the result of having a third copy of the 21st chromosome. As 3/21 is a Saturday this year, we will celebrate on Friday, March 20. All Rose Parkers are encouraged to celebrate.

Local author and Down syndrome advocate Katelyn S. Herrygers will be joining us on Friday, March 20 for a book reading and activity in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day. If you'd like a copy of the book I Am Me for your home collection, use the discount code WDSDRP20 to save $3.21! Why $3.21? The discount represents Trisomy 21, the third copy of the 21st chromosome which establishes Down syndrome. Buy the book locally through Poppin Huis in-store or online to apply the discount. Shop Here (https://poppinhuis.com/collections/super-jay-brand/products/i-am-me) Bonus, $3.21 of each book sold using our Rose Park coupon code will be donated to the Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan! (Discount code valid through 11:59pm March 21, 2020)
